I was in full on panic mode trying to figure out what just happened.
My first opportunity to update firmware on a Sony. Sony A7RIV NEX-5T HVL-F45RM LA-EA5 Metabones-IV Sigma MC-11 Yongnuo EF-E II TLT ROKR MD-NEX KR-NEX DA-NEX. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found that the A6000 got a firmware update yesterday. The description is even more vague than the recent A6000 firmware. I don't know if this will help anyone but I'm just sharing my almost bricked a6000 experience and what I did to bring it back to life. Replace the a6000 battery but the camera was still dead only the little red light under the bottom was on, I turned on back the camera relaunch the update software do the required and then plug in the USB cable to it, to my surprise the update restarted while the camera screen was still black which was always the case, I watched nervously to the end until I was prompted to hit the finish button, the screen lit up and I hit the finish button plugged out the USB cable and my a6000 was updated to firmware: 1.20, minutes after I went on a Japanese link which took me to another update 1.21 which I did with no problems and my a6000 is working perfectly now on 1.21. I close the update software turned off my iMac running 10.9.5 and restart. My only solution left was to call Sony to inform them that my a6000 was bricked but consistence prevailed and I tried some more stuff. All they release in 'firmware updates' is support for new lenses. It is a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC), which has a smaller body form factor than a traditional DSLR while retaining the sensor size and features of an APS-C-sized model. I tried to turn it off but nothing was happening just a red light was on at the bottom of the camera I did the battery removal thing among everything else but the camera was still dead. Most things in a6300/a6500 could be done in a6000 with software updates, but who would then buy new cameras They are not even nearly taking all out of their current hardware through software updates before already updating hardware. The Sony 6000 (model ILCE-6000) is a digital camera announced 12 February 2014. To my surprise the strangest thing happened, in the middle of the update the process was aborted leaving me with a non functional a6000. Today I tried to perform update 1.20 on my a6000 followed all the instructions which I was already familiar with, P.S.
